For many families, the October Half Term is the last chance to get away before winter sets in, and if you like the idea of heading off to warmer climes to get some sun on your bones before the madness of Christmas, now is the perfect time to book your winter sun break.

There are some great bargains to be had at this time of the year, especially if you go long haul to destinations like Florida, Indonesia and South Africa, and while the prices do (sadly) increase over the school holidays, you could end up paying less for an exotic adventure in the Philippines than you would for a week in Tuscany!

With winter just around the corner, no more Bank Holidays until December, and those darker nights creeping in, October and November can seem like very long months, so why not head off to one of our Half Term Hot Spots where warm sunshine, clear blue seas, and colourful cocktails are the order of the day…

Mauritius

Delicious Mauritius is a fantastic destination for singles, couples, families and groups, and if you shop around for the best deals, you could get a bargain break to this tropical paradise in the Indian Ocean.  With beautiful scenery, endless water sports and plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained, Mauritius really does have it all.

South Africa

While ‘peak season’ does not officially start until next month in South Africa, the sunshine has already arrived in Cape Town! There are great hotel deals to be had during the months of September and October, and if you are looking for a city break in the sun, Cape Town is a great place to start.  Delicious food, dazzling scenery and buckets full of wine await you… and if you have kids in tow, there are plenty of amazing adventures available to keep them entertained.

Bali

If your children are a little older, Bali could be the perfect destination for your Half Term break.  It might not be the first place you would think of for a family holiday, but if you are looking for pristine beaches, endless snorkelling opportunities and trekking adventures in tropical rainforests full of exotic wildlife – Bali is the perfect spot.
