May – the Perfect time to Travel

If you are one of many thinking about jetting off on holiday this May, then it seems you are in good company!  One of the best months of the year to take a long-haul trip abroad, May offers great weather both above and below the equator, and if you feel like heading somewhere south, you will be able to take advantage of cheaper flights and less crowded tourist attractions.

Most of us northern Europeans love the sunshine (as we get so little of it at home!), and so the thought of sunning ourselves in an exotic destination is just what we need after a rather long, cold and dull winter.

Deciding where to go might be the most difficult part of planning your May holiday, but if you want warm sunshine, cold cocktails and plenty of water activities you will struggle to find anywhere nicer than Australia, South Africa, Mauritius or for something really exotic – Fiji!

All of these destinations are bathing in glorious sunshine, and as May is no longer classed as “peak season”, there are some fantastic trips available for those looking for an experiential travel package.

Travelling out of season provides numerous new and exciting possibilities, and if you would like to indulge in opulent hotels, luxury ground transportation and fine dining venues, May is possibly the best time of year to do so!

Local attractions are far less crowded and easier to navigate during this period, and as such, you are more likely to get know the locals, share a glass of wine with the vineyard owner, or dine with the restaurant chef, and small things like these turn a holiday into an amazing travel experience.

Experiential travel is not a holiday; it is a trip into a whole new world, so why not treat yourself this May? Go on, you deserve it!
