While the weather starts to cool in the Mediterranean during the month of September, there is a good chance you will get plenty of sunshine on the Greek Island of Crete.  With great beaches, delicious dining options, and hotels to suit every budget, Crete is a great choice for those looking for a short-haul option that will not break the bank, and there are direct flights from most major European airports.

Mauritius bathes in sunshine all year-long, but during the month of September, there is very little rain and the temperature rarely drops below 25 degrees Celsius. Great beaches come as standard on Mauritius, and while the hotels may be a little more expensive than those in the Med, there are some good all-inclusive options available if you know where to look!

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

If you fancy doing something completely different, why not book yourself up on a tour of the Ecuadorian Galapagos Islands. There is always a chance of rain, but with temperatures hovering around 24 degrees, it is the perfect time to cruise the islands and take in the amazing wildlife and scenery.

Anyone reading our blogs will know that we are a little bonkers about Cape Town!  A breathtakingly beautiful city packed with great hotels, restaurants, bars and attractions, it is (in our humble opinion) one of the best places on earth to take your September break, and as spring has already arrived below the equator; you can expect plenty of sunshine.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

If you have only got a few days to pamper yourself, why not head on down to the Amalfi Coast and enjoy the boutique hotels, fine wines, and mouth-watering dishes served on the Italian Riviera.  A short hop from the UK, it is a wonderfully romantic destination for worn out parents, and you can expect temperatures in the late 20s.
