Are You Dreaming of a White Christmas? Here Are a Few Places You Might Just Find One!

Well, it looks as though it is going to be yet another wet and windy Christmas in the UK, and with travel chaos predicted across the country (thanks to flooding), I can only hope that we will get home in time for the Turkey and Stuffing!

While many people living in the Southern Hemisphere believe that we have a White Christmas every year here in the United Kingdom, it very rarely happens these days, and so if you want a guaranteed White Christmas in 2012, you might want to pack (quickly) and head off to one of these Top Winter Wonderland destinations:

Austrian / Swiss / French Alps

The Alps have had plenty of snow over the past few weeks, and while a warm weather front is expected tomorrow, there are several metres of fresh powder snow just waiting for skiers and snowboarders.  A white Christmas is guaranteed in these parts, although hotel accommodation is no longer a certainty as millions have arrived over the weekend!

Whistler, Canada

Another Ski Destination I know, but the fact is, if you want a White Christmas you need to head to the world’s most popular ski areas such as Whistler in Canada.

If skiing is not your thing, there are loads of other activities in the surrounding area, and as you are just two hours from Vancouver, you could always ditch the skis in favour of some serious retail therapy.

Lapland, Finland

The most ‘Christmassy’ place on earth, Lapland is not only where you can enjoy a White Christmas, but you can also take a Reindeer ride over a frozen lake, and if you are very lucky, you might even get to see the big man himself!

A magical place for children and adults alike, Lapland is Finland’s festive treasure, and with a stunning range of Glass Igloos and Ice Castles to stay in, you could find yourself sleeping under the Northern Lights.

Wherever you are spending Christmas this year, we hope you arrive safely and have a wonderful time!
