A seriously romantic holiday destination that is every bit as idyllic and beautiful as one would imagine, the Fiji Islands may be a long way to go, but they are worth every single air mile!
A destination favoured by honeymooners, baby boomers, back packers and world travellers, the Fiji Islands are accessible to everyone, and whether you are looking for five-star luxury or a rustic seaside Bure, this tropical Paradise of the South Pacific will cater for your every need.
We were lucky enough to visit the Fiji Islands during our trip around the world, and found the warm turquoise waters, sugar white beaches, and delicious menus of fresh seafood most welcoming after a hectic few months in Australia and New Zealand.
Most round the world flight tickets include a stop in the South Pacific, and as the Fiji Islands are “on the way home”, it makes perfect sense to stop off for a few days (weeks, months or years!), and enjoy the beauty.
Fiji is a friendly holiday destination that embraces the foreign traveller with open arms. We found the local residents quick to greet you with a smile and the renowned Fijian greeting ‘Bula’, and they are always happy to give tips and recommendations to help you get the most out of your stay.
Dining in Fiji is a real treat, and if your idea of the perfect meal includes freshly caught fish, tropical fruits and a chilled Piña Colada, then you will be in no doubt that, you have indeed arrived in paradise!
Island hopping is part of everyday life in Fiji, and whether you base yourself in Nadi or stay on one of the smaller islands such as Castaway Island, the water sports, boat trips and snorkelling possibilities are endless – making this the perfect holiday destination for sun and sea worshippers.
Fiji takes you in and hugs you like a long-lost friend, and once you have made the bond, you too will find it very hard to leave!
I’ve always wanted to go to Fiji. The islands look so beautiful.
They are Hannah! You must add it to your bucket list! 🙂
Been to Fiji a number of times, including Castaway, almost in Australia’s back yard. Wonderful place with beautiful people 🙂
You are so lucky Baz… It takes us about 24 hours to get there! Worth it though… 🙂
