The Best Thing About Travel Is… Trying New Foods

I absolutely love trying new foods, and while I definitely wouldn’t eat anything that was still alive (grubs) or something I believe to be cruel (shark fin soup), I will pretty much try anything on the menu when I visit a  foreign land – after all, isn’t that part of the fun!

On my travels to date, I would have to say that Asia has come up with the most unusual culinary offerings, and while chicken feet in curry sauce may be a delicacy in some parts of the world, I can honestly say that chewing on a rubbery old chicken foot (complete with nails…!) is not really my cup of tea.

But hey, when in Rome…!

Taking of Rome, do you agree that Italians have the best food in the world?  Pizza, Pasta, Gelato, Tiramisu… I could easily eat Italian dishes until the day I move on to the “upper room”, but in the meantime, here are some treats we have enjoyed on our travels around the world – bon appetite!

Well, if I couldn’t eat Italian every day – Mexican would be just fine by me!! 😉

I also love trying new foods. My husband, daughter, and I are currently in Greece on a round the world trip. The food here has been so delicious.
There are some places on our rtw trip that I have been sad to leave mostly because of the food. Lisbon was one of them. I know greece will be another. 🙂

How wonderful! Greek food is definitely some of the best in the world, we were lucky enough to live in Athens and Crete – and we certainly put on a few pounds during our stay! Enjoy your trip around the world 😉
