Most travellers have at least one ‘travel request’ when booking their holiday abroad.
For some that would include ‘a room with a view’ or perhaps ‘a king size bed’, but when it comes to asking your tour operator to rent a pack of Alpacas to graze on the mountains outside your hotel room… well, you might be taking it a bit too far!
Unusual travel requests are something we get used to in the travel industry, but if these requests released by Lastminute.com, Gold Coast Tourism, and Virgin Cabin Crew are anything to go by, it seems some travellers really do get carried away with their personal needs and bizarre holiday demands…
One traveller holidaying in the Dominican Republic requested that their travel agent remove a particular horse from the stables where they had been riding, because it had left them with a red bottom – they backed-up their claim with photos!
Another traveller called his booking agent to request that the Club Entertainer at the holiday resort be fired – for looking at his girlfriend.
Over in Australia, one traveller (geographically challenged, perhaps) requested a tour of Sydney, Melbourne, Alice Springs, and the Great Barrier Reef – and he wanted to do it all in one day!
While on the other side of the ocean, a rather picky traveller at a top hotel demanded a new room as the curtains didn’t match the bedding.
If you think those are all a little bit crazy, spare a thought for Virgin Atlantic Crew members who have been asked…
Can you please open the window – At 35,000 feet…
Can you turn the engines down because they are too noisy?
Can you please ask the captain to stop the turbulence?
So if you want a high floor, a non-smoking room, or a sea view – go ahead and ask for it, your travel agent has most probably heard much worse!
Oh dear god, these seem too good to be true. Oh people…
I know Lara! Crazy, crazy world we live in! Thanks for stopping by 😉
