The idea of Harvey Ball, the creator of the iconic yellow smiley face that we all know and love, World Smile Day was first celebrated in 1999, and it now takes place on the first Friday of every October. Recognised internationally as a day of smiles and acts of kindness, World Smile Day is not about politics or religion, it is simply a day when we can be nice to each other, for no other reason than it feels good…!
