The total circuit is around 174km, and thanks to the local luggage shuttle service provided, you can cycle from one town to the next, and make overnight stops along the way!

Mountains to Sea Cycle Trail: North Island

An on and off-road cycle tour stretching from Mt Ruapehu to the coastal town of Whanganui, the Mountain to Sea Cycle Trail in New Zealand’s North Island is a spectacular 217km journey (including a boat or kayak ride), which you can enjoy in its entirety on a single day adventure, or split down in to several sections. Classed as an ‘intermediate’ cycle trail, there are some demanding climbs along the way, but after indulging in all that fabulous seafood and New Zealand wine, you’ll be more than ready for this cycling challenge!

Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge: North Island

If you are looking for a one-day sportive, the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge attracts some 7,000 cyclists from across the globe, and with a variety of different distances to choose from, from 5km to 640km, there is something to suit everyone in this spectacular ride.
