Black Friday Travel Deals & Discounts

While the airlines do not publicly announce that they will be running Black Friday Sales, most of them do. Last year, British Airways offered discounted long-haul flights to Hong Kong and Dubai for just over £300 per person, they offered super-cheap city breaks to destinations such as Venice and Barcelona, which included flights and a two-night hotel stay for just £99 per person, and they also gave away bonus Avios to frequent flyers – and so it’s well worth checking out their sales this coming Black Friday – you could bag yourself a bargain!

Ryanair give discounts year-round, and so you might not notice much difference on Black Friday, but last year they gave an additional 20% off many European flights, and in their own words, they are planning to have “an even bigger and better flights sale bonanza” on Friday 23 November 2018.

If you can’t wait another week, check our Ryanair’s current winter sale. They’re offering one-way flight from London Stansted to Oslo Norway for £4.88 per person, and tickets from Edinburgh to Memmingen (Munich South) Germany for just £5.86 per person, so it looks like Christmas really has come early!  But baggage, dear travellers, is NOT INCLUDED, and you will have to pay extra if you want to take anything bigger than a handbag with you.

So, when should you be online next Friday to secure yourself a travel discount? Well according to a study by Skyscanner, flights are at their cheapest after 2pm on Black Friday after the early morning rush. So, take it easy fellow bargain hunters, you can have a lie in and indulge in a spot of brunch before heading off in search of your next bargain holiday. And if all else fails, you’ve got Cyber Monday to look forward to, and that’s a whole new ball game!
