Getting our top 10 favourite cities list together was no easy task, and the top five was the most difficult! But as we work our way up to the number one spot we head back across the Atlantic Ocean to Our Number 5 Top City – the one, the only Las Vegas!
Whether you love it or hate it, Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world, and the ultimate escape for anyone looking for a few days of fun.
A megaresort standing amongst the barren Nevada desert, Las Vegas is every bit exciting as it looks on TV, and as time is irrelevant (there are no clocks anywhere!) you get to relax, unwind and go with the chaotic flow of casinos, mile long buffets and bottomless happy hours!
A place that holds a special place in our hearts, Las Vegas is where we married in 2004, and while I had my doubts, I can honestly say it was the best decision ever! Over 100 thousand couples marry in Vegas each year and while tacky ‘little white wedding chapels’ and Elvis Presley are probably the first things that come to your mind, the reality is a whole lot different!
A wedding in Las Vegas can cost anywhere between 150 bucks and a million dollars, and whether you want to marry sailing down a Venetian canal or while flying over the Grand Canyon – you can create the wedding of your dreams in Vegas!
Since our first visit in 2004, we have returned to Vegas at least seven or eight times and every time is a blast! With amazing hotels (Vdara is the current favourite!), fantastic poolside parties, 24/7 casinos, amazing restaurants, award-winning shows, and all the shopping one could possibly wish for, Las Vegas is like Disneyland for adults – minus Mickey Mouse!
If the gambling aspect puts you off Vegas – worry not. Las Vegas is so much more than Casinos, and whether you decide to risk ten dollars in the penny slots or not, your experience in this amazing town will not be affected in the slightest.
Dining in Vegas is not for those on a diet! With ‘all you can eat’ buffets in every Casino and fine dining venues dotted all over the strip, eating is obligatory, but hey, you are on holiday so pack your “fat” trousers and go for it!
Does Las Vegas deserve the title of Sin City? Well, I simply cannot say, after all “What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas”!!
