If you think that Great Britain is a nation of couch potatoes – think again! A recent poll by the Post Office® found that a whopping 75% of adults aged 18-64 now plan “have a go” active holidays where high-adrenaline sports like paragliding, snowboarding and white water rafting come as part of the package.
With the help of an “Activity Barometer”, the Post Office survey asked holidaymakers what activities they would like to do on holiday and how much they would be willing to pay for a high-adrenalin adventure.
Rally Car Driving, Scuba Diving, Water Skiing, Jungle Trekking, and Sailing were the five most aspirational activities, and as two-thirds of the adults surveyed confirmed they had already taken part in one of the activities on a past holiday – it looks like Brits really do like to get active during their annual break!
When it comes to budgeting for these high-adrenalin activities, survey respondents said they would expect to spend around £48 for a mountain biking expedition and up to £400 for Kite surfing beginners course.
Fortunately, 77% of those surveyed confirmed that they would make sure they were being properly guided by qualified experts, and the Post Office advise all travellers to check that they have the correct travel insurance to cover such activities before leaving home on their High Adrenalin Holiday!
