In a bid to kick-start the country’s economy, new President Mauricio Macri yesterday lifted currency controls on the Argentine Peso, which has resulted in the peso losing almost 25% of its value against strong currencies such as the US Dollar and the Pound GBP.
This time yesterday afternoon, you would have got 14.5 Argentine Pesos to the Pound, and 9.8 to the US Dollar, but today, you will get a whopping 19.9 Pesos for every pound, and 13.4 Pesos for a greenback.
