Top Christmas Gift Ideas for Travellers

It’s that time of year again, and if like me, you have left your Christmas shopping until the last-minute, now is the time to dig out your credit card and start working your way through your Christmas list!

Thankfully, since the wonderful invention of the World Wide Web, we no longer have to venture outside to stock up on our favourite festive treats, in fact, we don’t even need to change out of our pyjamas, but that doesn’t solve the problem of what to buy for friends and loved ones… and I seem to spend the whole of December searching for that ‘perfect’ gift!

However, the internet is packed with handy hints, tips and ideas, and here is a compilation of items listed as “Great Christmas Gift Ideas for Travellers” that I came across today…

Lightweight Luggage

If you struggle to pack light (who doesn’t?), lightweight luggage is essential! I’m pretty sure that any frequent traveller would love to receive a Samsonite Lite-Shock Spinner Suitcase this Christmas, and while black is always a safe choice, I’m loving the red… just in case anyone is reading!

Portable Power Bank

Whether you are standing on top of Kilimanjaro or sunning yourself on the exotic beaches of Fiji, you are going to need something to charge your smartphone for those all-important selfies! A lightweight portable power bank belongs in every intrepid travellers backpack, and there are numerous different shapes and sizes to choose from.

A Drone

Gone are the days when we needed a digital camera to catch our treasured holiday snaps, today we can do most of it on our smartphones, and for those super special Ariel shots for Instagram, a drone. Surprisingly affordable, you can get a decent drone with video and camera for around £200 if you shop around online – although if you do buy this for a keen traveller this Christmas, you can pretty much guarantee that you’ll lose them to the world of Ariel photography until New Year’s Day!

A Kindle

The more you travel, the more you want to travel, and with a handy Kindle in your Louis Vuitton Backpack, you can read up on your next destination while enjoying the current one! Okay, it doesn’t have to be LV… I’m just saying, it would be nice!

iPad or Tablet

A rather generous Christmas gift, but one that no traveller should be without, an iPad or tablet is essential for the tech-savvy traveller. It helps us stay connected, wherever our journey takes us, and provides a valuable backup in case the dreaded should happen and our smartphone dies…

So, there you have it, some great Christmas gift ideas for travellers… If I get socks this year, there will be trouble!
