It’s that time of year again, and if you haven’t made your New Year’s Resolution yet, you have just 10 days left to choose your resolution before setting it in stone with a glass of Champagne on New Year’s Eve.
The most common New Year’s Resolutions involve health/fitness and financial goals, and while both are very commendable (especially if you intend to eat too much and spend too much over the festive period – who’s doesn’t!), I prefer to go with a resolution that I have every intention of keeping – and that is to travel more in 2019!
If you are struggling to come up with a New Year’s Resolution that will last longer than a week, (most of us quit after just 7 days apparently!), then here are a few alternatives that could keep you interested until the 1st of February and beyond…
Travel the world and take a selfie in front of five places you have always dreamed of visiting (Sign at top of Kilimanjaro, Taj Mahal, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Table Mountain for example)
Become a volunteer, either at your local charity organisation or abroad, and dedicate some of your time to help those less fortunate.
Skip the diet and opt for a lifestyle change instead. Walking to work rather than driving, switching your Latte for a Rooibos tea, and having pizza once a week rather than twice will all make a difference to your waistline!
Try a new food / wine each week, and don’t be afraid to try the local cuisine when you are on holiday – deep fried crickets could be tastier than you think!
Spice up your life by swapping the ‘usual’ for the ‘unusual’ and don’t save anything for a special occasion – eat the cake, wear your favourite, and don’t put off for tomorrow things you could do today!
Add twelve items to your Bucket List, and cross one-off every month throughout 2019.
We would love to know what your New Year’s Resolutions are for next year, so drop us a line and let us know!
