Muizenberg is cool, it’s colourful, and it comes to life during South Africa’s summer months, and if your idea of the perfect weekend is catching waves, chilling on the beach, and drinking ice cold beer as the sun sets over the ocean, then this could be the ultimate destination for your next spring break.
Just a short drive from the centre of Cape Town, the False Bay Coastline attracts both local and international visitors during the warm summer months, and while it may not have the glitz and glamour of Camps Bay and the Clifton beaches, it does have warmer waters, and that’s a huge plus point when it comes to surfing!
An iconic seaside town that still homes the brightly coloured Victorian beach houses that date back to the times when Muizenberg was Cape Town’s premier swimming beach, there is something quite special about it, and while the shark infested waters may be enough to put some people off, others seem to enjoy the challenge!
Here’s what our day in Muizenberg looked like…
